Founder & CEO, Shellworks
Insiya is Co-Founder & CEO of Shellworks a leading techbio company that collaborates with nature to create innovative and uncompromising packaging solutions. They have developed a petroleum-free material called Vivomer, a bio-based and home-compostable alternative to single-use plastic made and unmade by microbes. In its application, it is moulded to create primary packaging, including a range of tubs and caps - providing a drop-in solution for personal care businesses of all sizes. At the end of its useful life, once disposed of, it will fully break down in any soil and marine environment, leaving behind zero microplastics. Originally from Sri Lanka, Insiya has previously worked for Apple and Ford and holds a B.Sc in Product Design from Stanford University and an M.A and Msc. from Royal College of Art and Imperial College.
