Kata Ovari is the founder of kreativ | kollektiv, a pilot initiative that promotes equity and social mobility through creative enterprise and alternative funding. She wants to remove socio-economic barriers to the cultural and creative industries by connecting underserved founders with socially engaged and intellectually curious investors, ushering in a new generation of businesses with inclusive and equitable hiring and employment practices. Alongside building her startup she is a co-lead at the local chapter of a global, decentralised co-op, Zebras Unite London. Kata sees enterprise as a form of activism, a vehicle not only for wealth creation but cultural and social empowerment.
