Chris Adelsbach OBE is an entrepreneur, investor, and mentor. He is Managing Partner of Outrun Ventures and one of Europe's most active angel investors, having backed more than 250 startups across fintech, AI, infrastructure, and enterprise software. After a decade at GE Capital, Chris co-founded Marlin Financial Group, which became one of the UK's fastest-growing businesses, featuring in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 for four consecutive years before its sale in 2014. He subsequently became a Venture Partner at Techstars, helping build its London accelerator while continuing to invest and mentor founders. Chris has invested in many of Europe's leading technology companies, including Atom Bank, Smart Pension, Marshmallow, Cuvva, Quant Network, BondAval, and Griffin Bank. He was named UK Angel Investor of the Year by UKBAA (2018/19), Sifted's most active fintech angel investor in Europe (2020–23), Business Insider's #1 Seed Investor in Europe (2022), and GreatBritish Entrepreneur Awards Investor of the Year (2023). He was also
recognised in the 2025 and 2026 Dealroom Power50 as a Top 1% UK investor.
