David Roberts

David Roberts is CEO of ARX Robotics UK leading the company’s growth in the UK and its work with the British Armed Forces, government and industry to accelerate the adoption of autonomous and uncrewed ground systems.

David served in the Royal Navy for 18 years, building extensive operational experience across maritime security, defence operations and the integration of emerging technologies into frontline capability. During his military career, he worked on the development and application of new operational concepts, including experimentation with autonomous systems, digital technologies and new approaches to command and control.

His work included supporting experimentation and exercises with NATO and Joint Expeditionary Force partners, helping translate lessons from contemporary conflicts and emerging technologies into capability design, force development and operational concepts. This gave him first-hand experience of the challenge of moving promising technology beyond experimentation and into systems that can be deployed, integrated and operated effectively by frontline forces.

Since leaving the Royal Navy, David has worked at the intersection of defence, telecommunications, space and robotics, with a particular focus on how digital technologies, software and autonomous systems can be translated into deployable military capability. He has worked across industry and government-facing roles, bringing together technology developers, military users and defence organisations to accelerate capability development and adoption.

At ARX Robotics, David leads the company’s UK business as it expands its presence, manufacturing capability and partnerships in Britain. His focus is on ensuring that operational experience from Ukraine and NATO exercises is translated rapidly into scalable autonomous land capabilities for the UK Armed Forces and allied militaries.
