Hélène Huby is a French entrepreneur and space engineer. In 2021, she founded aerospace startup The Exploration Company, with a “very ambitious, half crazy” goal to build a European competitor to SpaceX. It builds reusable and refillable vehicles to carry cargo to and from space stations in low-Earth orbit — and beyond — and also has plans to build a high-thrust rocket engine. The Exploration Company has now raised over €200m from investors such as Balderton, Plural and EQT Ventures, and works with the European Space Agency and NASA, along with several governments.
