Cofounder and CEO, Gryd

Mohamed Gaafar is Co-Founder and CEO of Gryd. An Imperial College civil engineer turned energy founder. He's spent the last decade in the built environment: delivering infrastructure on mega-projects from UK campuses to Saudi new cities; then moving into energy startups, working on regulatory innovation and financing of behind-the-meter solar.

A lifelong storyteller, he has performed poetry on stages around the country, including at New York Times events.

He pulled those threads together to co-found Gryd, the modern grid company.

Gryd deploys renewable tech as infrastructure, not consumer hardware: funding, operating and orchestrating solar and battery across entire developments, so sites get power in months instead of years. He believes speed and cost to power will define what gets built in the era of AI.
