Nnamdi Emelifeonwu

Nnamdi Emelifeonwu is the co-founder and CEO of Definely, a legal tech company that helps lawyers review complex contracts. He spent four and a half years as a finance lawyer at Freshfields, where he met his co-founder Feargus MacDaeid, one of the few registered blind solicitors practising in the City. Working alongside him, Nnamdi asked the question that became a company: if you could design your ideal way of navigating a legal document, what would it look like? What they built for one lawyer turned out to solve a problem every lawyer had. Launched in 2020, Definely is now used daily by over 150 leading law firms and in-house legal teams, including A&O Shearman, Slaughter and May, JP Morgan and BT, and ranked 23rd in the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50. He and Feargus received King's College London's Distinguished Alumni Award for Business and Entrepreneurship in 2025. One of very few Black founders in the UK to raise over $40 million, Nnamdi mentors and advises founders from underrepresented backgrounds coming up behind him.
