Dr. Salinna Abdullah is an electronics engineer and entrepreneur with a background in Computer Science, having worked at Intel and UCL. Awarded scholarships to study Electronic & Electrical Engineering at UCL, she earned recognition, including the Cisco and Turing Institute Prizes.
Her career spans both research and entrepreneurship. She co-founded SowCrop, an IoT decision-support tool for agriculture, and later joined a student-led incubator programme where she met her co-founder, Harvinder. Together, they developed a novel EMG biosensor for stroke rehabilitation - technology now applied in next-generation VR interfaces at Meta.
During COVID, Salinna completed her PhD on efficient deep neural networks for biosignal processing in low-compute environments, publishing multiple peer-reviewed papers. In 2022, she and Harvinder launched Motics full-time, completing Techstars and expanding their mission in healthcare - with a focus on preventing medical errors.
